Roon ARC constant "Poor Connection Try Again" message. Why?

I keep getting this message from Roon ARC on my LG V50. Wifi signal strength is excellent: -30 dBm!! I tried restarting the PC (Roon Core) and the phone, but it doesn’t help. What to do??

@Zoltan_Korpas, plesae post only once for a Support request. Multiple identical posts dilutes the ability for Roon and the Community to provide assistance.

Roon Core Machine

Include your operating system and machine info (Model, CPU, RAM)

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Your network gear (model of routers/switches) and if on WiFi/Ethernet

Connected Audio Devices

Specify what devices you’re using and their connection types, like USB/HDMI/Chromecast, etc.

Number of Tracks in Library

Tell us how large your music library is, eg. “30,000 tracks”

Hi, i solved this with ”reset roon arc” in settings inside roon arc app (this was on ios iphone). Had same problem. Have you tried that? (It didnt work with reboot phone, nor open/closed app.)

The message you’re receiving indicates one of two errors:

  1. Port forwarding, your router network security settings, or your firewall are not correctly configured and your Roon Core cannot actually reach your phone outside the network.

  2. Your Core and ARC are on different versions of Roon and can’t properly handshake.

We’ve taken a look at your diagnostics, and based on who your internet provider is, there are likely additional steps you’ll need to take to allow for your Core to properly port forwarding or pinhole to reach ARC outside your home.

What router are you using in your setup? We’re quite familiar with your ISP after the Roon ARC beta program revealed some limitations and workarounds necessary for Vodafone. We’re here to help, but we’ll need you to provide a screenshot of the following to begin:

  1. the page you see under Roon → Settings → ARC, along with any diagnostics displayed
  2. a screenshot of the IPv6 settings and port forwarding settings in your Vodafone router web GUI.

We’ll keep a look out for your response and appreciate your diligent patience. Our goal is to get ARC functioning for you as soon as possible now that we’ve reached your inquiry in the queue.
