Hi @BagelJoe,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. To help us investigate further, could you let us know whether this is happening while you’re on your home Wi-Fi or using mobile data? Also, do you see your Roon server listed as an available option to connect to when the issue occurs? Let us know we’ll be glad to assist!

ARC will not connect to Roon server while on home WiFi or on the road

Can you take a look in Roon settings/ARC and see what it says? (Ready? or is there a diagnostic window? )

Shows not ready.

Hi @BagelJoe,
Thanks for posting that error for us. That error message usually means that Roon wasn’t able to automatically set up port forwarding. You have 2 options for troubleshooting this.

  1. The easiest option is to use Tailscale instead of port forwarding. If you want to try that option please check out this article.
  2. The other option is to manually set up port forwarding on your router. This article will help you out with that process.

If you have questions or need any help with either of these options please let us know. We’re happy to help.

The error message prevents ARC from working on the cell network, but it is irrelevant for the home wifi. If it doesn’t work on home wifi, there is something else in play, too.

Thanks for the help all. Using Tailscale seems to be working. I’ll continue to monitor.

Hi @BagelJoe,
That’s great news! Once you feel confident that Tailscale will work going forward let us know and we can mark this thread as resolved.

All good for now, thank you all.

Hi @BagelJoe,
Great thanks for letting us know! I’ll mark this as solved for you.
