Hello. After posting on Support, at the suggestion of Vadim I am posting here as well. Focus won’t show up on latest iteration of Arc. Roon has been playing quite smoothly for years now. Everything is properly updated. Wondering if other users are experiencing the same situation.
· No vpn. Router generic ZTE H1600 provided by the internet provider as standard equipment. Fiber to the box 200 mbps quite stable. Ios ecosystem, Iphone 13 pro max hosting Roon Arc. Roon plays well, no major issues so far. Thanks.
Thank you mjw for pointing out i’ve been looking in the wrong place. I was hoping for more, apparently. I had not realised that Focus is restricted to My Library. The way it was presented did not make it unambiguously clear. I thought that Focus as a tool would offer the same superb versatility one meets at Roon.
Exactly! One would legitimately expect more or less the same brilliant functionality you get in Roon Focus from a cursory reading of the presentation. Never mind. Thanks!
Please do. Because Focus should be applicable to the Qobuz and Tidal libraries in their entirety rather than be restricted to the material one has singled out for one’s personal Library. I am not sure whether it is feasible technically but it is worth making the suggestion.
If this is the case, it’s best if things stay as they are. Stability and ease of use are paramount. An expanded Focus feature on Roon Arc is not such a big deal.
I’m mean, don’t get me wrong, the current chasm between library / not-library creates many problems,
and it would be cool to be able to apply Roon tools to everything the streaming services have, but the data would be vast and currently the only solution would be cloud. This post about what’s necessary for just Roon’s search infrastructure may give an idea:
