So I want to listen to RoonArc on my iPhone 15 and instead of music I get the message: “There’s an issue with your Roon server. Your Roon Server is online but there is an issue that’s preventing access. Go to the Roon app for more information.” It is infuriating that RoonArc yet again doesn’t do what it is supposed to. It is even more infuriating to get such a cryptic message when I am away from home. Now I am at home and I go to the app. I assume I need to go to Settings > RoonArc. After testing there it tells me “Ready. Roon Arc can securely access your Roon server.” That is it??? So what is wrong? Why am I being directed to the app when the app has nothing to tell me? How am I to resolve a problem that is not identified?
Hi @Luke23,
Thank you for your post. Diagnostics from Roon ARC show that the phone’s session has become unauthorized, either because it hasn’t synced with RoonServer on WiFi for several weeks or because you’ve become logged out of your account due to inactivity.
When is the last time you opened ARC on your home WiFi? When you opened the app and discovered the error message you mentioned above, were you first prompted to login?
I recommend signing into our accounts page on a browser from your phone to authenticate the session. Then try opening ARC to see if the session carries over.
I did what you suggested and logged into my account on my phone. Not that I understand. I use Roon on a daily basis, so how can I be logged out due to inactivity? Anyway, logging in made no difference. I still get the same message.
To answer your other questions. I last opened Arc at home sometime in January. When I started Arc in the car today (away from my home wifi) I was NOT asked to log in.
I solved the problem by disconnecting my session with the server and then reconnecting. It then told me it is syncing for the first time. I was afraid that meant all my downloaded music would be gone again (happened before) but it looks as if everything is still there. That is a relief.
Hi @Luke23,
That’s great news — I’m really glad to hear you were able to get ARC working again without losing any downloads. Let us know if anything else comes up or if there’s anything you’d like help with!
