Describe the issue

I’m 1000 miles away from my home and for the first 700 miles arc worked very well. As near as I can tell, I did nothing for it to lose contact with my room server. How, I cannot connect to my own server and says to make sure it’s set up for remote access, which I think it was both because I thought I completed the steps to do that and the fact that it worked for a while on my trip. I’d sure like to get it back for my return.

Describe your network setup

I have previously sent you my network information and since I’m 1000 miles away and I don’t remember all the details. I’m leaving it at that. I look forward to any help you can provide for my return trip.

There was a major Cloudflare service outage / disruption today that affected Roon’s cloud services. You may want to try ARC again later.

Good day @larryplumb !

I hope you’re doing well today.

We’re sorry to see you have a problem with your Server when you’re far from home.

As @mjw stated the outage could have been caused by CloudFlare’s temporary denial yesterday, but we can’t confirm that exactly since we can’t see your server too now and can’t request the diagnostics report from it.

Do you have anyone next to the server who could reboot it or execute some simple manipulations ?

Thanks!

Regards.

Hi @larryplumb,

Are you still having issues with ARC after several days have passed? As others have mentioned, there were broader internet infrastructure issues that affected Roon’s cloud services this week. They’ve since been resolved.

I bought a used Mac Mini for $200 and installed Roon and Splashtop. I use it remotely to connect to my Nucleus to do reboots and reconnections to Tidal and Qobuz when away from home.

This thread is now closing due to inactivity since we haven’t seen a response in the last week.

To reiterate, it’s entirely possible that the disconnection you encountered was a result of the Cloudflare outage that occurred around the same time. Several of Roon’s upstream services (and streaming services) depend on infrastructure that would have been rendered unavailable during that period.

ARC’s session can expire if you’ve spent more than two weeks away from your home network - depending on the duration of your trip, this is entirely a possibility.
