Roon Arc not working!

Thanks Mark , Where do I get in touch with the support team ?. Cheers mate

Hi @Emmanuel_Charles, I tagged them in my previous post.

Hopefully someone from @support will be along shortly.

EDIT… Just came back and completely changed this post! IT WORKS NOW.

I am running Core on Linux (Ubuntu) and totally forgot about ufw. Once I did a

sudo ufw allow 55000

everything worked fine

Hi @Emmanuel_Charles,

Are you still having issues with port forwarding? Has the error in Roon changed from the originally reported 504 error?

Unfortunately, we have no magic fix to make this work for you. The problem preventing you from getting ARC working is either a limitation of the ISP or a configuration issue with the modem or router. We are certainly aware that people are reporting issues but they’re all based on the aforementioned root causes.

Here’s some common things to consider with a 504 error and please forgive any redundancy in the form response.

The diagnostics you’ve provided suggest that UPnP is not properly configured on your router.

Please first try the following steps:

  • Try to enable UPnP/NATPMP in the web administration interface for the router directly upstream from your Core
  • Try to manually open the port in your router’s port forwarding configuration
  • Make sure the IP/Port matches the Port listed in Roon → Settings → ARC
  • Check for any VPNs or Firewalls that might be interfering
  • Check if your modem is in Bridge mode
