Any thoughts on this? Or am I out of luck for using ARC anymore? Is there any ways you think of tweaking how many things are in my main library (like 'ignore mp3, if I have FLAC version) or a way to have a limited ARC version of my database? I’d be totally fine if I could have my full libary for my home, but a limited one for mobile (like just the new stuff I’m ingesting, etc) You would think it would not be too hard to allow ARC to say, just syn these few directories, not the full collection. Let me know if any of these things sound plausible. Thanks.
Thank you for the update, and apologies for the delayed response.
Regrettably, this isn’t currently a feature in Roon and would require development work on our side.
As a possible workaround, you could try starting a fresh library sync with ARC and then adding tracks in smaller batches (around 50k tracks at a time) to the watched folder, syncing with ARC as you go. Please note that this will wipe your current listening history and modifications. And in case you change the phone, it will require to start from scratch again, so please let us know if it works for you.
OK, so if you could just confirm regarding your suggestion about starting with a ‘fresh library sync with ARC’, you are saying I would need to delete my current library and this new fresh library sync would be for Roon Remote as well as Roon ARC, so for my local listening I would also only have access to this reduced amount of tracks?
Hello Damijan,
Just to clarify, I wasn’t suggesting deleting your current library — I meant starting a new Roon database.
However, based on information from another thread, this approach didn’t help another user facing a similar situation. At this point, the only viable solution is to wait for a fix from R&D.
We already have a ticket with R&D regarding this issue, and we have added your case to the tracking for further investigation.
No additional information is needed at this time, so we will go ahead and close this thread for now. Once the developers review the ticket, if any further questions arise, we will re-open the thread and reach out to you.
Thanks again for your report and for your patience while the ticket progresses through the development queue.
Thank you for your patience.
