Roon ARC on Tablets (iPads and Android) [On Roadmap]

Only phone sized UI is supported, and on tablet it is shrunk down to a rectangle. A full tablet UI like what Plexamp has would be appreciated.

+1 ARC on an iPad is an odd user experience

Shame we dont have it yet. Ideally the work put into the iPad version can carry over to the mac/windows versions too.

Just voted for this too. I have been an ARC sceptic in the past but it’s working super solidly now. A proper iPad version would be ideal but the new multi tasking system for iPads does mean you can place the iPhone ARC in a window next to other things you are doing. Not perfect but not as clunky as full screen iPhone app on the iPad.

Nah guys, 2 years in this is getting ridiculous. We’re paying top dollar and there’s other options out there. Get on this. If not on roadmap for 2025 I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Hopefully we have a release for this soon.

Going on vacation, installing Roon Arc on my iPad just to realise that it’s only for the iPhone, then i thought that can be true, but YES it’s true, after almost 3 years in development it’s still isn’t a thing!
Maybe Roon should spend a litle more of the money we customers pay for the product on development, 3 years for porting the iOS app to iPad that’s a long time.

Wonder when we will get this app. I am not a software developer but surely its just a matter of UI as the app already exists.

Hello,

I’m a huge fan of Roon and Roon ARC and am very happy overall.

I’d love iPad support for Roon ARC. while I’m sure it’s primarily used with mobile devices, when I travel I like to play music on my iPad and have a bigger view. Having access to my Roon library when I travel for business is a core use case for ARC for me, but Im forced to still have the iPhone sized UI even on iPad.

Thanks, happy to answer additional questions.

Hi, it would be nice to have Roon ARC work in landscape mode on tablets.
Is this on the roadmap at all?
It does not seem to be too complicated …
Thanks

Not sure about landscape but I guess this would be a first step:

Keenly awaiting this feature! Using the iPhone version in the iPad just now….all that extra screen real estate is waiting to be used….

I updated my iPad to iPadOS 26. Now I can run Roon Arc as a small window alongside other programs. It’s not Arc for iPad, but at least it makes better use of the screen space.

+1 from me — a native iPad version of ARC with landscape mode would be very welcome.
ARC already works great on my iPhone, and having an optimized tablet UI would make browsing and managing music even better.

+1 posts don’t count - please use the Vote button at the top of the thread instead.

Thanks, done. :+1:

I did vote but unsure why this isn’t a part of Roon’s standard development? - why do we need to vote for something that is so critical - it’s a no brainer to optimize apps for different devices.

Can I expand this out to include Chromebooks, which I guess comes under Android?

I would also really like for this to be implemented. I voted at the top.
