· None of these are listed. It simply says "TIMEDOUT" or similar.
System or third-party *firewalls *or *antivirus software* can sometimes block RoonServer from reaching ARC.
· Try adding RoonServer and its associated processes to the whitelist of any firewalls or antivirus software you have installed, including the Windows system firewall, if applicable. [You can learn more about firewall exceptions with Roon here.](https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/firewall)
Has the status in Roon -> Settings -> ARC changed after adding exceptions in your firewalls and antivirus software for Roon? I don't have any system or third-party firewalls or antivirus software.
Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?
· I've turned UPnP/ NAT-PMP on and ARC won't connect

Describe the issue
Roon ARC will not access the Roon Server. Nothing I can do changes the "Not Ready" message (with no error code) The diagnostics data is: { "ipv6_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"}, "ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"}, "external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"101.hhh.iii.jjj","actual_external_ipv6":"2405:aaa:bbb:ccc:ddd:eee:fff:ggg","router_external_ip":"10.240.100.25"}, "status": "status": MultipleNatFound , "natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"}, "upnp_autoconfig": {"server_ip":"192.168.1.1","found_upnp":true} }
Describe your network setup
TGP (Australia) Modem/router is a Sagemcom FAST 5866T My iMac is connected to the router using Ethernet Roon server is runnign on the desktop iMac
It looks like there are two routers in your network.
Your Sagem router is providing connected devices, including your Roon Server, ip addresses within the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet which is fine but it has been issued a ip address 10.240.100.25 which is also in a private ip address range (as is any ip address starting with ‘10.’).
ISP’s should not issue ip addresses in private address ranges so it looks like there is another router in your network which could be offering ip addresses within a range of different sized subnets (anything from 10.240.100.0/24 to 10.0.0.0/8 - the latter of which is huge supporting up to 16.7 million devices).
In addition, from what I can find on the internet, it appears that TGP in Australia use CG-NAT.
With all of this in mind, it is probably easiest to abandon any attempt to set up port forwarding and, instead, setup Tailscale in order to create a VPN tunnel between your mobile device(s) and your Roon Server.
An introduction to the use of Tailscale can be found at:
This article also has links to more specific instructions for setting up Tailscale on the particular Roon Server platform (Linux, Windows, MacOs, NAS, Nucleus/Rock) that you are using.
Unfortunately, Tailscale can not be setup on the original Nucleus and Nucleus Plus devices or on ROCK installations that use BIOS boot rather than UEFI boot. For these, the only way to run Tailscale is to set it up on a separate computer (which must be left on to provide Tailscale connectivity but which need not be very powerful - a Raspberry Pi with an Ethernet connection to your router would be good enough). In this case Tailscale must be configured as a ‘subnet router’.
Instructions for setting up Tailscale as a subnet router can be found at:
Thanks for taking the time to write in! @Wade_Oram has provided some excellent information above - do you have multiple routers in your local network setup?
If so, let us know if what Wade has suggested above is helpful! We’ll be monitoring for your reply. Thank you!
Thanks for this reply. Its very helpful. I do in fact have 2 routers in my network, and I hadn’t considered the second one when I was trying to set up port forwarding. The second router is a Mesh extender connected with Ethernet to the Internet connection from the street (as far as I know), not directly from the Sagemcom router.
I’ll see how I go with using Tailscale and get back to you.
Hi @Andrew_Wilson1,
We’re glad to read hat Tailscale worked for you. I’ll mark this thread as solved for you. It’ll remain open for a couple more days in case there are further problems.
