Describe the issue

Roon ARC will not be able to access your Roon Server

Describe your network setup

Quantum Fiber
Gateway Eero Pro B010001
Eero PoE 6 T010001
Wired
Nucleus

I changed the Port from 15000 to 10000 and like in the past Roon ARC now works. But if things go as they have in the past at some point Roon will stop allowing ARC to work again. This is the pattern thus far. No idea why as I don’t change anything but Roon just randomly stops allowing ARC access.

Hello @Glenn_Adriance,

Glad to hear changing the port to 10000 got you back online!

To address that “pattern” of it failing again later: the reason this usually happens is that UPnP (automatic configuration) can be unreliable. Other devices on your network (like a game console or smart home hub) might try to claim the same port range, or the Eero might “forget” the automatic rule after a reboot.

If it drops out again, the permanent cure is to set up a Manual Port Forward in the Eero app for your Nucleus. This “locks” the door open so Roon doesn’t have to keep asking for permission.

Since ARC is currently working, I will go ahead and close this thread. If the connection drops again in the future, don’t hesitate to start a new topic and we’ll help you with the manual setup!

Enjoy the music!
