Describe the issue

Roon ARC is suddenly unable to access my server. It was working fine until I restarted my Mac mini, and now it perpetually says "Not Ready." I've disabled and then reenabled UPnP on my router (Google Nest), to no avail.

Describe your network setup

Spectrum modem > Google Nest router > Mac mini M4

Hi @lukadouridas,

Depending on your router firmware, UPnP won’t always automatically find an available port to assign for RoonServer/ARC. Additionally, your internet service provider may have implemented CG-NAT upstream of your account, which will block port forwarding entirely.

Since you have a Mac RoonServer, you’ll likely find Tailscale a much easier and more reliable remote access solution.

If the Nest is your only router, then you can try to manually forwarding the port instead. You’d need to use the port number and IP address from Roon Settings → ARC to create a TCP format rule in the Nest administration page.
