Roon message- "Roon ARC can securely access your Roon server" port 5500.
Roon Arc is attempting to sync with the server for first time, keeps attempting.
Roon works fine.

Describe your network setup

Small Green Computer SonicTransporter i5, SonicOrbiter 2.9, Sonore UltraRendu
Modem and router unknown manufacturer.

@Al_Landau, are you trying to synchronize for the first time over WiFi? That seems to be the most efficient method to get ARC working.

Success!
Yes it’s over wifi.

I really appreciate your lightning response to my message. Thank you.

Sometimes ARC still chokes on something and the only way to get out of it is uninstall and reinstall ARC. Quite often it works then. It’s annoying if you have ARC downloads that get deleted, but if it’s your first time, you don’t have to lose anything.

One way to break ARC for sure is restoring a Roon backup or changing server. Then ARC has to resync with the new server, which also requires an uninstall/reinstall [1]. If you didn’t install ARC just now but a while ago and did a server restore/change in the meantime, this might be the cause for your issue (but there are others that can cause it, too).

[1] Roon Labs knows and they have a development ticket to improve this, but we don’t know when it will be done.
