So I tried what you have suggested, I turned off UPNP and provided port forwarding manually:
Service Name: RoonARC
Service Type: TCP
Internal Port(s): 49714~49714
External Port(s): 49714~49714
Server IPv4: 192.168.0.108
and port triggering also manually (the same paarameters), but I was unable to type the same Service type. So, for port forwarding I have : TCP and for port triggering: UDP. When I typed the same value for both I was not able to click save neither of them (Conflict with Port Triggering service. Please check ports!). I have Arris TG3442S router.
Unfortunately it still does not work. I am not able to access roon arc remotely.
Do you have idea whot to do next?
Hi Darek,
You could also check if IPv6 connection is completely disabled in your router settings.
I see that you use IPv4 for your core but if the router’s settings permit also IPv4 it could produce this type of errors (at least it was so in my case before I disabled IPv6).
Pozdrowienia,
Wlodek
Can you remove port triggering? If my understanding is correct, the port is normally closed, and only opened when an outgoing connection is made. This won’t work if ARC is attempting a connection from outside your network. Moreover, the service type is TCP.
thank you for your reply.
I removed port triggering , unfortunatelly this did not bring any positives.I made some screens from other settings, also from IPv6 (as Wlodek suggested). I think that this connection is disabled in my settings, I have made some tests.
Hi,
recently I talk to IT guys at my work and they told me that in order to connect remotely (from the outside of my house) I need to receive static IP address. They told me that Roon arc is not able to connect with my router because I have dynamic address at the moment. I wrote an emiali to internet provider and received info from them that they can provide my static address but I need to pay for that monthly.
So, my question to you is , do you think that lack of static address could be a reason why I can not connect to my router via Roon Arc on my phone?
As far as i know, i dynamic IP address should not be an issue to make Roon Arc work. Maybe @support can clarify this. Did you have a look at the reply of @ffk? Did you unchecked the 2 boxes on ipv6?
As @Maarten_Duits says, a static address isn’t essential. However, what you do need is an IPV4 address. I’m currently using a dynamic IP with my ISP; in my experience these rarely change.
I suspect your issue is that port forwarding still isn’t set up correctly.
Can you confirm that you disabled UPnP, and followed the port forwarding help in Maarten’s earlier post:
