Roon audio setup not unique after Mac homedir copy (ref#VNNAU2)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble connecting to Roon

Describe the issue

after copying homedir from one mac to another, Roon audio setup is no longer unique. I removed the following dirs after quitting (real quit, not just the red close button) Roon:

  • ~/Library/RAATServer
  • ~/Library/Roon
  • ~/Library/Caches/com.roonlabs.raat

I started Roon on Mac1 and set it up. When I start Roon on the second and connect to the server, it sees the audio devices from mac1 as local on mac2 (connected to this mac).

Something else in my homedir is being used to identify the Macs which makes them no longer unique.

Both Macs have been setup individually, I did not restore one mac installation on the other. I only copied my homedir. User ID’s are identical. No apps were copied, all apps are installed and setup individually on each Mac.

Describe your network setup

Roonserver on Linux and 2 macs

There is a hidden file at /Users/<USERNAME>/.rmembid with the Roon ID and it must be unique. (Roon will create a new one if deleted).

Press Command+Shift+. (dot/period) keys to toggle the visibility of hidden files.
