Hi @jptaranto,

Thank you for your post. We’ve activated diagnostics for your RoonServer to have a closer look. From what we can see, there’s a request to delete the RAATServer entry for the AudioQuest DragonFly Black v1.5 mentioned above - this request reaches RAATServer and it promptly destroys the device entry and associated history, DSP settings, etc.

This isn’t normal behavior unless there’s been a firmware reset of the DragonFly or a reinstall of RAATServer in the background. Logs don’t seem to indicate the latter occurred, so we have a few follow-up questions:

  1. Can you confirm no other devices are affected? We’re particularly interested in other Wasapi-controlled locally-controlled endpoints.

  2. Please verify that the firmware on the DragonFly is updated.

  3. Have you reinstalled any Windows sound drivers or updated Windows in the background recently?

Please try reinstalling RAATServer in the meantime on your affected Roon PC:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

Hey @connor thanks for getting back to me.

I’ve deleted the RAATServer folder and Roon has reinstalled it for me. During this process the Audioquest zone disabled again - and I had to enable it. Although this time it wasn’t deleted.

In answer to your questions:

  1. No other devices so far. I have enabled another zone on the server PC to see if it is also affected, although I had not noticed this happening with zones on this PC before I got the Dragonfly.
  2. I’m not sure if firmware is the latest, they don’t appear to offer a tool to update it. If you can point me to an update tool that would be great!
  3. Windows is constantly updating isn’t it. It’s been awhile since I’ve installed a sound driver however. I don’t think such a thing triggered this to happen - It’s been happening the whole time I’ve had the dragonfly.

Thanks!

Hi @jptaranto,
Thanks for getting back to us with that information.

Can we take this to mean that your issue has been resolved?

Let’s wait and see - might have to give it a week or so. Thanks!
