Describe the issue

Roon no longer sees AVR connected via HDMI.

I am running Roon on an Intel Nuc 10 running Windows 11. It is connected to an Onkyo TX-NR6100 (Roon Tested) via HDMI, and while I used to have the option to use the Onkyo's DAC by enabling it as an audio device I no longer have that option. I can output audio through the Onkyo by using it as the NUC's default device, or connect to it via Chromecast or Airplay, but those are not my preferred methods. I have tried regenerating the RAATServer folder, disabling firewall and antivirus protection, and re-running the Roon Installer without any luck. What should I do in this instance?

Describe your network setup

NUC 10 i3 running Windows 11
Asus RT-AX86U Router
Onkyo TX-NR6100 AVR

Have you power cycled the avr, don’t mean standby full power off and on. Also plug the hdmi out of the nucleus to a tv or monitor and see if you get it showing your the cli interface.

Hi @Jeffrey_Paul,
Thanks for reaching out to ask us about this issue. The steps @CrystalGipsy suggested are a good place to start. Did you still have connection issues after trying those steps?

Hi, I did, and there wasn’t a change, but now I’m wondering if the “Intel Display Audio” is the same functionally as the connection to the receiver that is now missing. The goal is to send the digital signal to the receiver to be processed by the receiver’s DAC and not have the signal processed by the NUC PC. Thanks!

Hi @Jeffrey_Paul ,

Yes, you wouldn’t see it as a specific zone in Roon via the HDMI output, the only part that Roon would be aware for the HDMI output would be the HDMI driver on the server (intel display audio). Hope this helps!
