Anyone had the experience of looking at your Roon history and seeing dozens of songs you would’ve never played? What did you do about it?
I’ve never experienced this. I’m guessing the play history is for Qobuz or TIDAL tracks? If so, change your passwords immediately, and use a complex password.
It’s weird because the Roon history doesn’t show plays initiated in the Tidal/Qobuz web players (which could be accessed by someone in a different location with a hacked account), does it? And to initiate a play in Roon, one would have to be on the same LAN
True, unless the OP means albums or tracks added from a streaming service. Maybe the OP has simply left a zone running Roon Radio all night with the amp turned off?
Undoubtedly Roon Radio running amuck. Happens all the time to me.
Thanks Suedkiez and Martin. I’m changing passwords and hope that Roon added songs after an album I played finished. If in fact Roon conitinues playing songs after an album finishes, I wonder if it does so after the remote and iphone is turned off. Songs yesterday as well as 2 days ago would have continued for many hours -all night. Perhaps, this weekend I should run a test by playing an album and then turning the amp off as well as my iphone and see what happens.
Thanks so much for responding to a relatively new Roon user.
Thanks Neil.
I’ve had roon playing on the living room entertainment system a couple of times when company arrived, and my wife switched it over to TV for the grandkids without stopping the music. A day or two later I noticed it was still playing to that zone with the radio feature. It is possible but may not be what your seeing.
If you have a separate Core, then yes it does - it’s part of the beauty of it that it doesn’t depend on remotes being in wifi range or running (as opposed to the music stopping if, say, the phone that initiated playback is taken to the loo, or the computer crashes or whatever).
Do you have Roon Radio enabled? That would continue playing after an album or playlist finished. The Roon Radio switch is on the Queue screen
My bet is you had Roon Radio enabled while your amp was turned off.
Check all your Roon zones and make sure they are not playing.
Thanks everybody. Yes I have Roon core. And I will check Roon Radio and Roon Zones.
As others already started, check all your endpoints/zones for stopped playback, and always end your listening sessions by engaging the stop button at screen bottom center for the currently used endpoint/zone.
Yes, indeed. If your core is on a separate device (Nucleus, NUC, etc.) and Roon Radio is on, then you must hit the stop button on one of your remotes or else music will continue to play, even if you turn off your amp and remotes. As others have said, this goes for multiple zones as well.
Alternatively, you could shut down your core device, but who wants to do that?
Most likely, I agree. I have Roon Audio off in all zones but sometimes it turns on and I see weird stuff in history. Albums I do not have, less likely he stuff I would never play because it stays in line with what I am likely to listen to.
The good news is that some artists may have received a fraction of a penny for a few plays.
