is apple mac mini late 2014 1.4ghz, 500gb hdd, 4gb ram enough for a roon bridge? thanks
Roon Bridge is a very lightweight application. It will run just fine on the Mac mini, but for Bridge it’s overkill: most people run it on low-powered, ARM-based SBC devices, like the Raspberry Pi. The theory behind this is these are low-power, optimised devices in a ‘less-is-more’ scenario.
You can roll your own, using a board that tickles your fancy – or have a look at ready to run endpoints like the USBridge Player (for USB) or DigiOne Player (for S/PDIF) by Allo – or, a bit higher up the food chain, at Sonore or SoTM.
