Roon keeps asking for an airplay code and or stating invalid password when trying to airplay to an AppleTV which is configured to accept Airplay from anyone on from the same network without requiring a password.
I know there is a workaround proposed so many times on this forum consisting of setting up an airplay password on the AppleTV.
But I explicitly do not want to do that.
I want everybody to be able to airplay to them without having to type in a password, not even once.
Not much Roon can do here – this is all Apple stuff. Is the Airplay password disabled in the Speakers & TV section in the Home app on your Mac as well?
Well yes, password is disabled in the AppleTV, yet Roon insists on having me to type in a password, plus it displays on the AppleTV an airplay code.
So yes, the problem lies within Roon, not with the AppleTV. I can perfectly airplay to my AppleTV from other applications with no problem, not having to type in any password or airplay code whatsoever.
There are other posts on this forum relating the same problem, and the only workaround was always to setup a password on the AppleTV, but what if you don’t want to have a password setup ? Not a solution.
