Roon causing ifi zenstream to flap

for a while now my ifi zenstream gets into a state where every few seconds it stops playing, then resumes.

it took me forever to find it.

steps to recreate:
start roon on your phone(any remote) and play an album
let the album complete. do not touch roon on the phone, say before bed . . .
goto the ifi web interface and watch it flap

your ifi device will be unusable until you close/restart roon on your phone. rebooting the core or other remotes, rebooting the zenstream are all useless.

I hope it helps someone else out.

Hi @MamaTried ,

Thanks for the information. Can you please clarify what you mean by “flap”? Do you get any specific error messages in Roon or just it just start and stop? Also can you please let us know details regarding the rest of your setup so that we can better understand the environment?

Description of Issue

in roon you will see nothing it just sits there. in the ifi web page you have the following bar. each refresh interval it flaps from nothing playing seen here to saying roon and shows a pause button

eg
start your stereo with your phone. load a playlist fall asleep let roon radio take over.
login to your desktop in the morning, send a playlist to your stereo.

it won’t play, it won’t error out.

Unfortunately, roon doesn’t tell you where it’s being controlled from. So trying to find out that you left roon playing on your phone the night before may be problematic But until you find out where you left it playing, you won’t be able to control roon. roon will start any number of remotes without regard to their actual operation.
