Describe the issue

I am about to use an ifi Zen streamer to supply music to my Chord Qutest DAC. Both are Roon Ready so my question is do I enable both in Roon or do I just enable the Chord DAC. Is there any benefit from having both enabled vs just the Chord.?

Describe your network setup

Ripped Music files are stored on a Synology DS124 single HDD disk NAS. Also on the NAS are several control points, ASSET, MinimServer, Synology Media Server which i can choose from. The ROON server is running on a dedicated MAC Mini which is currently connected by WiFi to the NAS and by USB to the Chord DAC.
When I start using the network streamer in the system it will be possible to acces the control point(s) on the NAS direct and connect the USB from the NAS. (no ROON in the connection)I will compare this with passing through Roon on the MAC mini

Roon Ready device

Roon Ready network devices have Roon’s streaming technology built in, and are certified by Roon Labs to provide the highest level of quality and performance in network streaming.

Roon Tested device

Roon Tested devices work over USB, HDMI, AirPlay, Google Cast, and other protocols. They have been profiled by the Roon team to ensure simple setup and effortless daily use.

Typically, you don’t enable a Roon Bridge: it’ll be recognized automatcally. If the Qutest is connected via USB, it will appear in Audio settings, and should be enabled. If you use S/PDIF, the Qutest won’t be seen, but will work, because this interface has no signalling.
