In Poly audio mode a track will play for a second or two and then discontinue. I get a message saying Qobuz is having trouble loading - may be a connection problem. Qobuz, when used directly, has no problems. This happened after Arc stopped syncing the day before (a separate issue which I posted about, but have not had a response to), first in hotspoot mode.
I reinstalled Arc and now it doesn’t connect with the core at all.

I read that Roon is updating software gradually and wonder if this is why these issues have suddenly been happening?
Would be most grateful for help that is detailed. FYI, I have no idea how to get into my routers settings and would need gudance if that is recommended. I do have Apple FireVault on.
The ARC diagnostic message you’ve posted indicates that the port assignment chosen by Roon in Settings → ARC is already reserved by the router. The update will have restarted RoonServer and potentially chosen a port in a range that is already reserved.
In Roon → Settings → ARC, try changing the Port (it’s likely something close to 55000) to something like 58000 or 60000. Please try a few different numbers, augmenting by a thousand or so, and see if it successfully configures port forwarding.
Please let us know if this helps at all. We’ll troubleshoot further from there.
As for accessing your router, I believe Spectrum has a proprietary app to manage their settings, as opposed to a web-accessible router address. You may be able to enter an IP address that will request a username and password, often printed on the bottom of the router itself on a sticker. It’s often something like http://192.168.100.1/, which you would enter in a web browser when connected to your network.
It’s possible that the router is 2.4gHz and 5.0gHz capable, or “dual-band,” and your Roon network is interspersed to default to both bandwidths.
I was finally able to resolve all the problems I’ve had with Roon and Arc. After countless hours of searching for answers since adequate support was not available I finally stumbled on a Roon question and answer video about network issues that can cause problems. I went out and bought a new router (Netgear Nighthawk) to replace my IP router and all my problems were solved.
I really enjoy the Roon interface and I’m glad I stuck with it to the end, but I have to say I am extremely unhappy about the amount of time and effort that went into finding that solution. The support Roon offers for such a tricky setup is completely inadequate in my opinion. At the subscription price I expect a lot more support given the complexity of use for many new users. I have seen a lot of defensive posts here from those who have tried to help, so let me note this: It’s clear to me that the networking problem is a big stumbling block for a lot of people. Most users have IP modem/routers, which the video explained was often the stumbling block. It took me a very long time and an added $300 dollar expense I wasn’t bargaining on to figure it out). Roon’s introductory videos make the whole process seem as simple as opening up a piece of Apple software, which it is in no way comparable to. I had an IT person try to help me when Roon support wasn’t helping, and they couldn’t figure if out. I realize that Roon is providing a lot of complexity that is feature rich, but I think you should be more upfront about these network issues so people have a better idea of what they’re getting into, and how to deal with it.
