I drives my crazy. Everytime when I group my Bluesound speakers (Node 2i and 2x Pulse Flex 2i) I keep getting this error in Roon:
‘Tidal media is loading slowly. This may indicate a networking or connectivity problem’.
Then the song stops abruptly and the next song is played for a only few seconds, going on and on … until the whole album is finished. Funny thing is that when I ungroup the speakers and listen to the speakers separately, there are no problems at all.
I have a stable and strong internet and Wifi signal (download 92 Mbps, upload 41 Mbps)
Some background information:
1x Node 2i = wired
2x Flex 2i = not-wired
Wifi: using mesh system Amplify
Roon core: ROCK with dedicated NUC (compatible with the installation instructions of Roon)
Roon, Tidal, Bluesound are all updated with the latest version.
I have tried to reset the router and Bluesound system, no improvements.
Could it be a bug? In the past I did not have this kind of problems with my system. I’m desperate, please help
At this point I can not use my multiroom system, because I can only use one speaker at a time…
Thank you!!

This is almost certainly a network issue; Roon places a heavy demand on your network, and will expose any configuration problems.
To assist you, it would be helpful to describe your network in greater detail, including model numbers, and how each device is connected. Likewise, how is the core connected?

I had a similar but much less severe problem. Its was my mesh network. I have the latest ATT gateway/router (Nokia something) and two ATT nodes (not Nokia). This gear is notoriously, shall we say, odd. Anyway, I don’t have any really specific recommendations for you. What I can tell you is that the nodes were fighting each other when signal strength varied (and in some other really odd cases). My ROCK is wired connect to router. Router is wireless to two nodes. Node outputs are both wireless and/or wired to endpoints.
Thank you for your quick responses.
Yes, maybe you’re right. It could be a network issue.
Some more details about my network:
Modem/router: Connectbox Giga Arris TG3492LG-ZG
Mesh: Ubiquiti Amplify AFi-HD Mesh
Bluesound: Node 2i and 2x a Flex 2i
My Roon core runs on a NUC: Intel NUC8i5BEK2 (8GB RAM, 240GB M.2. SSD)
The modem (hallway) is directly wired with Ubiquiti (living room)
I use the Ubiquiti as a switch → my NUC & Node2i from my bluesound are wired to the internet via Ubiquiti.
My two Flex 2i speakers (in bathroom and bedroom) are wireless. Unfortuneately it’s very difficult to get these wired.
I was thinking:
The Connectbox also generates a Wifi signal, which I don’t use. Would it help to set the connectbox in Bridge mode? Could it be that the router of de Mesh system and Connectbox interfere with each other? When in Bridge mode → is the firewall in de Mesh system strong enough?
Should I place the two Flex speakers wired in the living room, just to test if it’s wifi problem…?
Internet history in this house:
About 1,5 year ago I had some internet problems; every 5 minute the Connectbox restarted and I lost internet signal. After weeks of testing and visits of different 3 mechanics the found the problem based on the printout of the modem → the underground wire just in front of my house was damaged and they repared it. After that, I can’t remember to have experienced connectivity problems.
Is it usefull to give a print of the modem?
Kind regards,
Anna

This may cause more issues for you since the Connectbox will probably use a different subnet.
I think this is a good idea. My Flex used to have these issues, and this was resolved after sorting out my Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, if you haven’t done so already, change the default DNS servers in the Ubiquiti to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1*, and restart the network.
*You may also use any combination of these:
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 76.76.2.0 and 76.76.10.0

The excellent advice you have been given by Martin should get you sorted. If it does not, let us know. If you are running router-behind-router, we can look at one more thing. Arris equipment built-to-spec for vendors is notoriously “finicky”. Good luck. I really don’t think we will need to review this avenue.
