Roon continuous updates

Forgive me if this has been covered. I scanned down the current list and no one seems to have this problem except me. Everyday when I first login to Roon I get a message that “A Software update is available…”. Is there really a daily update occurring. I would think this is dubious.

I have attached a pic of my current builds to see if there is an issue brewing on my Titan or something else is going on.

Another interesting observation is that if I try to perform a manual update I get a message to the effect “There was an error checking for the update”. So I seem to be caught in a loop.

But I don’t see how I can fix this on my own.

Reboot your Titan might fix it.

  1. So far I tried to delete and reinstall the App- no go.
  2. I reinstalled the OS software - no go.
  3. I restarted the Titan- no go.

Right now I am stuck at build 1524 and it looks like I should be at build 1534.

Just to note I was getting a delayed error saying “there was an error checking for an update.” Now I get the error immediately after hitting the install button.

I’ve tried this on my iPad and my iPhone with the same results.

Any other suggestions?

John

Open a support ticket, that’s what you paid for. Click here → Support and then Get Help. Official support does not monitor user discussions here in Roon Software Discussion.

When you say:

Does that mean the from the Titan WebUI? If so, then follow @Suedkiez advice and start a support ticket, If not, then go the the Titan WebUI and try “reinstall” under the Operating System section.
Then reboot everything, Titan, remote devices, network modem/router/switches etc.

It looks like the database is corrupt on your pc and is staying that way on reinstall. Not sure if they remove registry keys and such but it seems like something is sticking around and causing you this issue.

Solution. My firewall has app control turned on for high risk internet apps. Nothing has changed for years on the settings but either on Roon side but more likely the firewall side the download app info changed and the firewall reclassified as risky and blocked.

This is unlikely to happen unless you have a full time firewall in place as I do (SonicWall) but if you need more info I am happy to supply.

Thank you everyone that replied with solutions I would never have thought of!
