Looking for to replace my Roon core. My core now is SonicTransporter i7, Crucial 8GB ram, Samsung 250GB SSD, (I don’t know how old ST7, got it 2 years ago on Audiogon),4 TB usb connected to ST7. My friend try to sell his Mac mini, I am thinking to upgrade. Here Mac mini spec. Apple Mac Mini - 2012 Server Edition - Quad Intel i7 2.3ghz - 16gb Memory - 2tb SSD - Comes loaded with 10.15.4 macOS Catalina. Room for a second SSD inside. What’s wrong with your STi7? How big is your library? I doubt you will notice any improvement in any respect with a 2012 Mac mini.

Nothing wrong. I got about 4TB,100000 flac and DSD. Mac mini have room for me to add another 2TB SSD, I dont have to run usb 4TB hdd to STi7. Thanks
Your current setup sounds fine. Maybe put in 8GB of RAM to go to 16? That’s about the only upgrade I can see may help.
The Mac may be a good purchase if you want it for something else, but I can’t see it improving your Roon experience.
