· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
Had to upgrade the m2. But before I did that I tried to recover the old storage. For some reason the device would not boot into the recovery usb (I tried multiple drives). But it booted from the recovery usb when I switched the bios from legacy to uefi.
While I was futzing with that, I also tried restoring installing on the internal drive. When all that didnt work, I replaced the m2, and was able to install roon core from the recovery drive.
It came up and all seemed ok. But I found that I cannot get it to boot if the old ssd drive is also plugged in, so right now its unplugged. How can I reset that drive so I can set it up as internal storage again?
I did try switching back to Legacy, but that wouldnt work, so its currently set to UEFI again. This works to boot with the new m2, but wont if the internal SATA drive is attached.
Hmm, this sounds like there is still an old install of ROCK on the internal drive? Are you able to plug it into another PC (adapter might be needed), and then format it from the other PC and try to reinstall in ROCK? To note, we have limited staff availability during this holiday season, thank you in advance for your patience until we can reach your case again.
yeah, it does because I was futzing with it before I swapped out the m.2. I was trying to avoid having to remove the drive to do the reset, but will do that if I need to.
It’s strange that if the boot order is set, it still trips up when there are two installs…
Noris, more importantly than this, could someone queue up my device to get updated from ROCK to Nucleus? I already had a ticket open on that, but didnt see an update. Thanks!
Checking back on this, it looks like the RMA team has been in direct contact with you and you should be all set with the upgrade. If you are having any further difficulties with the NucleusOS showing as expected, please let the RMA team know. Hopefully, you’ve been able to make some more progress with the internal drive, but if further troubleshooting is required, just let us know regarding this here, thanks!
