Roon Core on Intel NUC NUC8I7HNK Mini PC (Windows 10 pro 64bit / 2TB M.2 SSD 32GB RAM /Roon version 1.7 (build 667) stable 64 bit. Connected via HDMI to Samsung model UN49MU6290 TV and USB Parasound P6 Preamp though USB DAC enabling MQA Core decoder. Connected directly to Actiontec model T3200 router used by my service provider Windstream using fiber optics to the neighborhood and twisted pair after. I get a minimum of 12Mbits/sec download. Updated all available Intel drivers and any others I could find on the NUC. However the Device Manager shows issues (yellow triangle with exclamation point) with Base System Device, PCI data acquisition and Signal Processing Controller, PCI Memory Controller and SM file Controller under other devices. I have tried multiple times to fix the drivers. Intel says I have all the correct ones.
Roon Bridge IBM P51 (Windows 10 pro 64 bit / 2TB SSD 32 GB RAM). Connected to router WiFi. RME Babyface DAC connected by USB.
The Roon core appears to be working just fine. I have Tidal installed. Audio under setup on the core does not show any other audio devices than the ones on the core computer. About on Roon on the core computer does not see the bridge. The IBM computer with Roon Bridge see the remote, core and bridge though About on Roon on the Remote computer but Audio in Setup on the IBM only shows audio devices on the core.
Any help would be appreciated. I like Roon enough to keep using it if I can get my remotes to work in other rooms. Otherwise a Purchase is doubtful.
Welcome to the forum! Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.
You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.
I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
I fixed all the issues under the device manager on the core computer. Use a program called Driverpack Solution from the website https://drp.su/en . It is free. They only place programs like FireFox and Google Chrome on your computer. Those can be removed. I have Vipre on the remote computer and only Windows defender on the core computer. I verified Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to Vipre. Windows defender does not show exceptions since it hands off security to Vipre. I verified Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceprions to Windows Defender on the core computer. Both computer have Roon and Roon Bridge. Both computer were rebooted. There are still no other audio devices shown in Roon other than those connected to the core computer.
Can you please try to turn both off temporarily and let us know if this allows the devices to appear?
Also, if instead of using Roon Bridge on the remote PC, you try to install the Roon app and connect to the existing Core, do the audio devices show up then?
