I just finished installing ROCK on a NUC and now I’m ready to install the software, however, I’m a bit confused as to which package to install… core? server?
I have been reading a lot of the knowledge base and, if I understand correctly, the core is already on the NUC after installing ROCK? therefore, I would install core? for Linux?
@Denis_Fiallos – Your understanding is correct. ROCK is designed to only run the Roon “Core”, or RoonServer. So you are all set now in regards to Core/RoonServer.
You just need Roon for Mac/Windows or RoonRemote for Android/Apple tablets.
If you do use Roon for Mac/Windows, make sure you tell it to be a remote. It will automatically find your ROCK’s Roon Core.
You do not need anything for Linux anymore. ROCK is meant to take Linux/Core/Server stuff out of the equation.
@Denis_Fiallos just to be clear, and maybe you already know this, once ROCK is installed on the NUC you do not need to install anything other software on it.
You only need to go to your other machines/devices on your network and install the appropriate software to remote control ROON.
