Roon Core prevents other sound apps from running on Windows computer (ref#0FR4N8)

Describe the issue

I cannot run other sound apps on the windows computer where I am running my roon server.

For example youtube does not run, it reports "Sound processor" error or something like that. Once I terminate roon and all roon processes, youtube returns to work.

I disabled the "system output" device to be sure, this didn't help, I have no other roon devices on this PC.

This was OK for the several years I've had my Roon subscription and just started several weeks ago. I cannot use roon this way, as other people use this computer.

Roon connects ok to the roon remote device, no dropouts etc. so no issue here.

If I read your post correctly, you are using Roon Server on a Windows machine and have it connected to your stereo equipment. If this is the case and you’re running Roon Server all the time it’s quite possible you have ‘exclusive mode’ enabled.

Found it. For some reason, WASAPI and ASIO audio devices that were defined on my laptop, “migrated” and now appeared locally in the server machine. Very strange, they still had the name of the laptop, which I had given these devices. That’s confusing and unexpected?

Anyhow, disabled these devices and solved! thx again
