Description of Issue
When listening to a music through roon, the music randomly stops and says “waiting for roon core” on my screen. After 2-3 minutes, it starts working again. I mainly listen to music through Qobuz
Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if there is any additional info you would like.
First off, welcome to the community! I’m excited you’re here and apologize that its an issue that prompted your first post - along with the long delay in getting to your thread. I very much appreciate your patience to that regard!
Digging right into your issue, I’m not able to see your core device online to enable diagnostics. If possible, could you please reproduce the issue and use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?
I’m hoping to see this problem solved. I’ve had the exact same problem of Roon randomly stopping, for minutes at a time, sometimes looking for the core, sometimes just freezing. I’m was running the Core off a USB drive connected to Synology 218+. Whether playing local files or Qobuz, on several different endpoints (PC, Yamaha & Denon AVRs via Airplay.) All connected with good ethernet cables. I finally stopped the issue by installing new core on another mini-PC and pointed to the music files on the Synology. Works flawlessly. But this means I have to keep the mini-PC on all the time, which I’d rather not do. It looks like a number of folks have had issues with Synology NASs; perhaps Synology NASs just don’t have the chops to run Roon?
