Roon core restarted after power cut - issue with storage and audio devices

NUC i5 running ROCK build 1.7 (710)

Restarted my roon core and not seeing my library or any audio devices. Usually would find several devices including my DCS Rossini DAC

The Rossini DAC is working and streaming via Ethernet (tried restarting it). Tried restarting Roon core several times. There is the blue power light and an orange light on the front of the roon core.

The Roon core is also not showing my library which is stored on an internal SSD.

I have backups to my Dropbox. Could try a restore, but seems something more fundamental going on. Not sure what to troubleshoot next.

Did you restart all your network gear as well

Maybe start Network let it settle down restart the rest , may help.

I do this daily, it’s important to get the network stable first

Have you tried the Web UI to see what kind of response your getting from the NUC/Rcok?

Yes. All reports are ok

Restarted network too

Thinking Roon is corrupted and trying reinstall next

Thank you

It’s lost my library and audio connections - see screenshot …

You’ve lost your Roon library. The power outage (spike) corrupted it; a not uncommon result.

Hope you have a viable Backup. Just reinstalling Roon is not enough. You also need a Restore

If you have recurring power problems, I recommend a UPS. The Roon library is not robust enough to withstand (among other occurrences) a power spike…

Just did the backup and it fixed it.

I was unsuccessful using the Dropbox backup to restore directly (timed out often). Had to download it to a thumb drive and then reinstall. Worked perfectly!

Thanks all

You’re lucky you had a Backup that worked. I’ve seen Backups become unusable, also.

Hey Dave, good it hear the backup worked.

As Slim recommended, a UPS backup system is a good thing to have.

I have 6 computers in the house, plus all the network components and my entertainment system sharing 4 UPS backup systems. It’s a worthwhile expense for me.

Good advice. I have a nice UPS with twin batteries, but the batteries died from age. I need to get new batteries or a new UPS.
