Just to make sure we are on the same page. You are now experiencing this behavior (i.e album count decreasing and then re-populating) with both of your storage location as it was previously only being experienced with the HDX, is this correct?
In light of the above observation I have enabled diagnostics on your account again so we can a closer look into the mentioned timeframe. I will confirm when it has been received.
Continuing forward, I would recommend disabling the iTunes folder as mentioned in my previous and then providing the requested “timestamps” when you notice the issue occurring with the HDX.
