Roon crashes on opening repeatedly despite reinstallation (ref#DJ4U5L)

· Attempted to open the application and it keeps saying Roon previously quit unexpectedly do you want to reopen...I try to reopen and gives up to report....I deleted application and reinstalled and it still does this. I also keep having issues with this over the last few months. I have been completely dissatisfied with this product. For $149 a year this should be working flawlessly!

Welcome to the forum, and sorry to hear about the issues. When you mentioned reinstalling the app, did you set the old database aside?

Let’s try a fresh database and see whether the issue persists:

  • Create a Backup of your current database.

  • Exit out of Roon and Roon Server from the taskbar area.

  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location.

  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon.”

  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old.”

  • Reinstall the Roon app from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder.

  • Verify whether the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup.
