Description of Issue

Roon application on Mac osX becomes unresponsive once I’ve navigated away and try to go back to the open application. Then have to force quit and reboot. This issue has been consistent for months now. I also have a permanently spinning semi-circle in the top bar “adding music to library”. It’s not actually adding any music and metadata improver is “paused”.

Roon application and core is fully up date.

Any help with this issue is appreciated.

Try relaunch in Finder/Application/Roon use show app and force roon execute icon. Maybe help. Few days ago my Roon crash, no luck with icon on dock, and used that solution to force restart.

Hey @Fred_Lummis,

Ben here with the support team, I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you were still running into issues? Do you receive an Apple crash report when Roon crashes?

If so, could you please grab a copy and share a screenshot here? We’re actively working on a bug related to Mac devices, and I’m curious to see if you may be experiencing the same issue.

I’ll be on standby for your reply. :+1:

Hi Ben, yes I do get the report crash to apple pop up box. I will try to capture next time and post to this thread. Thank you for the response!

Hey @Fred_Lummis,

Thanks for sending that over! Do you by chance have the entire crash report? And if so, would you be able to upload it to our server here, for further inspection?

Thanks!

Uploaded the report to your server.

Thanks for sending that over @Fred_Lummis,

As a good next step, if you haven’t yet, I would do a fresh install of Roon on your mac remote. Be sure to remove all traces of Roon in your system library folder when doing this. But, before doing so, I’d also make sure you have a recent backup saved on an external drive or anywhere outside of your Mac remote, just in case. :slightly_smiling_face:

After doing this, let me know if you continue to experience crashing on the remote device.

If the issue does persist, we’ll want to review a set of manual Roon logs from the mac. You can use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

Thanks again for your continued patience!
