I have a new Nucleus setup and it is working well. I have some files stored on its internal storage and use Tidal and Qobuz for my streaming. When I signed into Room on my Mac, I found a reminder that I had not setup any backup. I tried to do so but the only option for this backup was Dropbox which is installed on the Mac. How do I direct the software to back up to an external drive. I do not wish to use Dropbox for this.
You’ll want to add some USB storage for backups. A 64 GB thumb drive is sufficient for most subscribers.
Thank you, David. I have done just as you suggested and all is good now. My misunderstanding was that I’d thought that the ROON app on my computer would detect storage devices connected to the computer rather than directly to the Nucleus. I now realise that the ROON on my Mac is running as a remote device and that the backup should have been to storage attached directly to the Nucleus, I attached a new Lear 64GIG thumb key to the back of the Nucleus and, voila, it appeared as a backup option in the ROON app on my computer.
