Describe the issue

When I start playback for the first time, after a server restart, roon begins by trying digital volume control on my Eversolo DMP-A6.

It then loses control and picks up the analogue output, which is what I want. How do I stop roon from trying digital volume output first ?

Hi @Stopeter44 ,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide more details as to the issue here, perferably with screenshots? How is Roon picking up the analogue output for volume control? Are you reffering to DSP volume vs device volume? What digital connections do you have on the Eversolo?

I turn off my Nucleus one at night. I start it every morning.

I use an Eversolo DMP-A6, via WiFi, as Roon Ready end point. It’s the only enabled audio zone in my configuration. It is configured to use the device volume control. I use the XLR audio outputs on the DMP-A6.

When I open the roon app, Roon has the digital out put selected at 0 dB, when I start playback, there’s a brief burst of noise, then Roon says something like “Roon has lost control of the audio device”. Then very quickly switches to the Analogue outputs.

This happens too quickly to really take a screenshot.

I found the trick that stops this. I switch the DMP-A6 to the internal player, before starting roon.

So, ultimately no problem.
