Roon Disconects from the network and seems to default to "airplay"

How do I get it out of “AirPlay” Mode (Green dot) and back to “Bit Perfect” (Blue Dot)? -

You’re going to have to tell us more about your setup if we are going to understand and diagnose your issue…

What is the device/Zone that you are using? A screenshot of Roon’s Settings > Audio screen would be helpful.

Apple’s Airplay protocol can be used for both wired (ethernet) and WiFi networks…

I’m using WiiM as my endpoint (Wireless) but have lots of air play capable devices in the house -Computers , several Iphones and an Apple TV - Should I somehow disable them from seeing ROON ? My Roon Core is a Windows PC. I think occassionaly when my Network drops the core is untetected and Roon wants to switch to AIR PLAY mode. – How can I make that NOT Happen by default?
In Air Play it’s not Bit Perfect and I get the Green dot and only 44.1 to my DAC in my main listening room (Via WIIM). Is that always true with Air Play ? Or is the better solution making even Air Play Bit Perfect somehow?

Go to Roon Settings > Audio, enable the Roon output targets you need, and disable those you don’t need.

Note that some devices may accept different methods and then they appear several times. E.g., if a device is Roon Ready and supports AirPlay (and its AirPlay input is enabled), it will appear once in the Roon Ready section and once in the Roon Tested section with its AirPlay input.

Every output that was enabled in Roon Settings > Audio will then appear as a Zone in Roon’s zone menu in the bottom play bar, and you can choose it from.

So if you only want to play to the WiiM by Roon Ready and not by AirPlay, enable & disable this accordingly in Roon Settings > Audio. Generally, Roon Ready is the best method that you want to use if a device supports it.

However, if you want to occasionally group zones together so that they play the same music, then you can do this only with zones of the same type, such as Roon Ready devices with other Roon Ready devices, and AirPlay devices with AirPlay devices. Meaning that if you occasionally want to, say, group the WiiM with an Apple HomePod, you would want to also enable the WiiM’s AirPlay in the Roon Settings, so that you have the option to use this one for the occasional AirPlay grouping.

The wiim pro has been noted to loose its Roon Ready connection for some users. So perhaps this is happening and you have also added it as an airplay client as well. Restart the Wiim and it might show up again. If you’re using wireless it might be some setting that’s interfering with it.
