Roon does not play native DSD on dCS Bartok

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

I am using a HTPC with linux Buster and the latest ROON core. The IOS app is also the latets version.

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

The dCS Bartok is connected to the HTPC and roon core by ethernet (JCAT ethernet card)

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Ethernet (ROON recognized the Bartok correctly)

Description Of Issue

The signal path in ROON shows that DSD is playing as DoP. That’s not what I exepted. The Bartok is capable of playing native DSD. There is nothing to configure in the audiosection? What’s going “wrong”? Of course it’s not a serious problem. The Bartok plays DSD as DoP very well. But it’s an unnecessary step in my opinion.

Many thanks in advance for the respons.

Johan

DoP is “native” for all DCS devices. They send DSD from the network board to the FPGA internally via DoP. If you sent it “native” DSD, it would just end up packing it in DoP anyway.

That was unknown to me. Thanks!
