Description of Issue

With the settings above ROON doesn’t play DSD files.
No sound playing

Only files up to FLAC or ALAC format with 192kbps and 24 bits can be played

According to specs the DAC supports 192/ 32 only.it has no SACD support. One USB states DSD but that’s likely will be limited to DSD64 and Mac’s don’t have great DSD support so it’s likely not supported on MAC without their driver. Did you install the driver? Do you have any options available in device settings.in Roon for DSD.

High Audiophile Marantz Sound

Audiophile 192kHz/32bit D/A conversion (ESS9016) and dual crystal clock

In my setup it works fine with DSD Playback strategy set to DoP.
The difference is that I use Raspberry PI as a streamer for ND8006. Maybe that’s an Apple limitation?

BTW, did you manage to have Device volume control working? I couldn’t.

Isn’t the system output the OS sound mixer device? I don’t think that device supports DSD.
Do all the devices work as expected standalone (outside of any group)?

It needs the driver installed for Mac os and then I guess you use that as the output.

It doesn’t need a driver for mac just windows.
Did you select the highest bitrates in the mac for the usb output as it says to do in the manual?
Also BlackJack point about grouping might be the grouping limitation.
