Description Of Issue
Roon doesn’t show all music that is available on Tidal and Qobuz. As an example, yesterday Taylor Swift released her latest album “folklore”, which is available on Tidal and Qobuz already, but can’t be found in Roon.
Thanks - very helpful! The teenagers here are itching to listen to T Swifts new album on something nicer than their iPhone. They have been taught wel!.
As noted in our knowledge base, sometimes new releases have a slight delay before they’re available in Roon. This is most common in surprise releases like this.
Thanks for your replies! However, I had always assumed that Roon would just be using the APIs exposed by Tidal and Qobuz and work with whatever these deliver back, which in this case would include the freshly published album. You seem to suggest that there is some work that Roon does in addition when something’s published, is that right?
Why aren’t the latest albums on TIDAL available in Roon?
When you’re browsing TIDAL in Roon, you’re seeing Roon’s TIDAL database, not a direct pass through of what’s shown on TIDAL – that’s why there’s so much more metadata, like recording dates, lyrics, links to composers, credits, etc.
This is also why Roon can sometimes be slightly behind TIDAL when a brand new release comes out – our database is generated multiple times per week, but sometimes a new album will just barely miss the cutoff, and will show up in a day or two.
Edit:
Of course, maybe a better solution would be to make them available with reduced meta-data until this is up to date. Besides if there are additional work done for each album, then there is absolutely no reason to not have info about dynamic range etc for content from Tidal and Qobuz
