Hello,
I have a NAD T778 (ROON ready) connected to the internet with an ethernet cable.
After a power failure in my home, ROON no longer finds my T778 as a ROON Ready device. It only finds my T778 via Airplay as an “Other network device”
How can I fix this?
Hi Henry, thanks for the reply.
My core is a Synology NAS DS918+. I’ve rebooted both T778 as the NAS, without results.
Somewhere else in the ROON support fora I read about the option “Find my device”. I can’t find this option, do you know where it is?
Check a hundred other threads here, contact Bluesound support and have them roll you back to older firmware. With the latest thing they broke, doing a factory reset (long enough power failure would qualify) kills Roon readiness.
The latest firmware is responsible not Roon. There are so many reports on the forum about the same thing and BS have admitted it’s an issue they need to fix. Exactly when that will be is anyone’s guess. If enough pressure is on them they might act sooner.
Ive been bitten by this now as had to reset BluOS on my T778. Put in a ticket to both NAD and Bluesound doubt thyey will respond until next week. If anyone has the older firmware available would appreciate you sharing it. AirPlay sucks SQ wisw so its BluOS app at moment.
follow the instructions from @Boris_Molodyi and you’ll get it fixed. You can also do the downgrade yourself using a USB stick. Download your version from the NAD ftp website here and follow these steps:
Power on
Put USB in
Go on display to “other” / BluOs upgrade / yes
Remove USB
After you’re downgraded, your unit should show as Roon ready. From there you can upgrade again to the latest version using either the device interface or the BluOS app.
There isn’t one specific to the T778 you need the last general one which is a few months back. It’s not in that folder. Some models have had specific updates to fix or add features to them but there are updates that just cover all models.
Thanks.
I have asked Blusound and NAD for a solution. I think I’d better wait for their reply before I download a wrong file and make the problem even bigger. An incorrect firmware can even irreparably damage my T778.
Bluesound will defer you to NAD. The one we need is in that folder it’s called VM310_usb_stick_3.20.25.zip as that’s the same unit name as the one linked on the Amps download page for the latest firmware.
My unit refuses to see the update from usb so will have to wait for NAD to get back to me anyway.
NAD rolled it back for me remotely yesterday so all back and running. Painless process all I had to do was open a link in a browser and give them the code it gives you. They then trigger an update remotely to install the older firmware.
