Describe the issue

Since I updated Windows 11 on my desktop computer, Roon no longer sees the computer's speakers as an audio zone. I've tried many things in Windows, updating drivers, etc. No luck. Any suggestions?

Hello @Kenneth_Reinhard,

Thanks for reaching out!

From the diagnostic data enabled on your account, it looks like your Roon Core is discovering the RAATServer on your Windows 11 machine (192.168.1.227), but the connection attempts are being rejected — this usually means that Windows Firewall or antivirus software is blocking the RAATServer process after the system update.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Temporarily disable any antivirus or third-party firewall software.
  2. In Windows Security → Firewall & Network Protection, make sure both:
    • Roon.exe
    • RAATServer.exe are allowed through the firewall for Private networks.
  3. Reboot your PC after making these changes.
  4. Reopen Roon and check if your desktop speakers appear again under Settings → Audio.
If it still doesn’t work, please let us know:
  • Which antivirus or security suite you’re using (if any).
  • Whether the desktop is running any VPN software.
Once we know that, we can guide you through the next step.

It worked! Thank you.
