Roon will play music through computer speaker without interruption
Roon playing through Meridian 818. It will connect after playing a few seconds and sometime a minute or so, it will dropped out and message “select audio zone” will appear

Is the PC using a wired or wireless connection? Are you using any DSP? What format and sample rate do the media files have?

PC is weirless. No DSP. Material played was CD format 16 bits 44k. Btw, when I stream internet radio to meridian 818, it also drop out after a min or so, roon loose the audio zone setting

This is the issue. Ideally, your Roon core should be wired. Remember, the core receives a stream and the passes this to the endpoint, so is more demanding than some audio solutions.

There are things you could try, e.g., change DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 or switch to 2.4G.

Hi @Chi_Leung_Ng,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Are you still experiencing issues with playback on the Meridian device?

If playback drops out with both Roon and internet radio, then the issue is likely in your network setup as @Martin_Webster suggested. We strongly recommend using a hardwire connection to your PC to avoid issues with playback, particularly when playing higher quality tracks.

I’d also verify that you’ve updated to the latest build of Roon on both your Core and any Remotes you’re using.
