Does anyone know why the highest DSD sample rate … for ASIO it is 256 but for WASAPI it’s only 128?
What DAC are you using? And I assume this is attached to a Windows PC?
Fiio Q5, Yes, it is attached to my PC via USB. I am very satisfied with the sound improvement with ASIO output to my Q5 with DSD256 sample rate, but just curious why 256 doesn’t show up in the WASAPI output DSD sample rate drop down.
ASIO allows for native DSD, of which your DAC maxes out at 256. I could be wrong, but, I remember reading somewhere that WASAPI uses DOP which would explain being limited to 128.
