· After latest update Roon keeos dropping out when playing music. This happens from my own library or even playing one of the Roon radio stations. Tried rebooting Roon, worked for a day, then the drop outs started. Sometimes Roon just stops playing, but usually music turns off for a few secodns, then comes back. Feels like a memory leak, but who knows.

Thank you for reaching out and for providing such a clear description of the behavior you’re seeing. Your observation about the system performance degrading later in the day and being temporarily resolved by a reboot is very astute.
You may indeed be onto something—our engineering team is currently investigating some reports of similar behavior related to how system resources and memory are managed over extended uptime in the latest build.
To help our R&D team get to the bottom of this faster, I have enabled a specific diagnostic mode on your Nucleus. This tool will automatically monitor the situation and send detailed performance reports directly to our developers while your Nucleus is running.
You do not need to take any further action or send us any logs at this time. Please feel free to continue rebooting the Nucleus as a temporary workaround when the dropouts occur, as this will not interrupt the diagnostic gathering.
We are actively working on this, and we will follow up with you directly in this thread as soon as the developers have analyzed the data or if we have an update on a permanent fix.
Thank you for your patience and for helping us improve Roon!
These <1 second dropouts accumulated sufficiently within a certain window to break the endpoints buffer. As a result, Roon tears down playback for the entire group Zone rather than allowing a single endpoint to interrupt.
During the same logged timeframe, we didn’t see RoonServer’s virtual or physical memory spiking as it performed regular background management.
Can you please elaborate on the specific network pathway between the Eversolo DMP-A6 and your Roon Server? This seems to be the only endpoint reporting any packet loss to RAAT.
If you play a high-res playlist directly to the DMP-A6 as a single Zone, do you have any dropouts?
Interesting, but mysterious. Those 2 devices are my usual playback configuration group. I have had the Eversolo maybe a year and a half, with no dropouts. Of course it’s had software updates, as has Roon. Both devices are on Gigabit Ethernet. Hookup is from a wall outlet to a TP-Link network switch in both cases.
Playing direct to the eversolo I get frequent dropouts. Also twice today., ,my laptop and iPhone couild not find the server the server.. after a while it came back… this is something new and troubling. I still believe this is software and/or a server issue.
Went 5 hours without issue after the Nucleus reboot. Playing this morning fine. My guess is the dropouts will start later today. I let the Eversolo play by itself during the dropout period last night. Had plenty of dropouts until I rebooted the server. FYI.
We’re going to comb through the latest logset containing these dropouts and follow up. Please stand by and we’ll back to you with more precise information shortly.
We’re not quite ruling out memory consumption on the Nucleus+ as a factor since rebooting seems to reduce frequency.
It actually completely fixes it. I think the server is also causing the page loading delays I’ve reported previously. It almost HAS to be the server. Things still running fine today. At it worst last night (before re-boot) it was dropping out several times a minute. Thanks for looking into this….
Yes, the reboots completely fix it for 3-4 days and then the problem returns until I reboot. My other problem of albums not loading at all is still here, after a year of checking by your team. I think both these issues are server related. Eagerly awaiting fixes. Thanks for being in touch.
Can you please confirm if there’s been any improvement in behavior after you have had a chance to install and test the latest Roon release? There’s been improvements in background metadata process that may have helped with your issue, please let us know when you have a chance.
Since my reboot and installation of new software no breakup or problems with the stream. Of course my other problem, of 1 album failing to laod every day for around a minute persists.
Since the latest 2.61 update, I do not see the same high memory consumption as you had before. Please monitor the behaviour for the next few days and let us know how it goes.
Have not seen the dreaded pause in loading album for the last 2 days. Perhaps this last update nailed it. Possible? That would be great. What would have changed in the code? Will continue to check.
