Describe the issue

I am an expat living in China.
I updated the Mac OS on my MacBook Pro 2018 few days ago. I have not been able to use roon since. I use a MacBook Pro 2018 as a core, and a Bluesound NODE 3 as a player.
I would follow your instructions to resolve this issue and it will work for about 5 mins, only to fail again. I will get a message that reads "starting playback on your audio device. This may take a moment!"
Other apps such as Tidal, Spotify work fine through BluOS which suggests that roon is the issue.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi @Andy_Kanayama,

Thanks for reaching out. We’ve reviewed the diagnostics report from your MacBook Pro 2018, and it seems the network bandwidth is quite limited for streaming. This could be causing the playback dropouts you’re experiencing:

Warn: FTMSI-B-OE ti/DADFBB62: poor connection kbps:795.0 (min:2986.0)

Since you’re located in China, we suggest trying a different VPN if you’re currently using one, as this may improve your connection.

Regarding your connection to the Bluesound device, we noticed frequent failures due to the following error:

Warn: [raat_ll/client] [Bluesound N130 @ 192.168.3.42:44449] failed to connect(0) ObjectDisposed_Generic.

This error indicates that your MacBook is losing connection with the Bluesound device and is unable to re-establish it, likely due to network management issues. We recommend the following:

  • Disable low power mode on your MacBook wherever it is active.
  • Ensure that the "Wake for network access" option is enabled.
  • Ensure that the "Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off" option is also enabled.
  • Please go to local network access option and retoggle Roon and Roon Server from there.
Please let us know if these adjustments help resolve the issue. Thanks.
