· Hi, I got my server to see my Pink Faun Scion and also got the Scions memory to become available. My problem is when I reboot my Mac mini M4 and try to start Roon it fails to find my Scion. I need to remove Roon to the trash and reinstall Roon and then when I re-try a apps startup it will jump to the song that I left on pause. My ip addresses are always the same, before and after a fresh reinstall. I did a power off of all equipment, Scion/ Mac/ Router/ Switches for 10 minutes and starting Roon I got my Scion as a server. Then I did a restart of my Mac and Roon could not find my Scion. Please advise me what I could try next. Thanks in advance.

· My router is Firewalla Gold SE and my switch is Netgear GS108E which is running unmanaged. No VPN or anything else.

Hello @Craig_Young

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

macOS Sequoia (version 15+), has tighter (and more obfuscated) network security settings than preceding MacOS versions.

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon and Roon Server are allowed.

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

My MacOS 26.2 … Local Network has Roon allowed but Roon Server option does not appear.
I retried to power off reset everything again and it failed.

I am currently doing a MacOS Sequoia fresh install. I will report back later with my results.

Hello @Craig_Young ,

Thanks for letting us know. Please do keep us informed of how the system is working after the OS reinstall.

I installed Sequoia 15.7.3 and the results is not good. I still have to re-install Roon to get my Scion server back. I contacted pink faun support and hoping that they may have a fix.

Hi @Craig_Young ,

What happens if you attempt to bypass the Mac with the Scion, and connect the Scion directly to your machine running Roon Server? Are you able to see it under these circumstances?

Thank you!

MacOS Sequoia is working when I reboot my MacMini M4 and start Roon again it finds Pink Scion and Roon Music is working. I found that Tahoe is unstable with a custom streamer and DAC. I think that maybe Tahoe might work with Roon if we are only streaming with mac machine and Roon only.

MacOS 26.2 and 15.7.3 both doing the same thing. I was successful with one reboot and I thought it was fixed. So I asked the AI copilot about this problem and it say that there Mac and Scion are both trying to be the Roon Server. I was led to how to disable and clean my old mac as the Roon Server and then Scion will be free to solo into that position. The instructions is not quite working though. Ugh!!!

After a reinstall and a Roon startup I tried to setup my Mac as the server and it tries to sell me another subscription license and then I will have 2 licenses. I will not subscribe to another license. I will have to install after a Mac reboot or computer went down because of loss of power. I had a similar license issue with my Dirac when I did a fresh install to WIN11, but I guess it is easy for them to do a license reset.

You don’t have to …

Just press the unauthorise icon, it’s quite safe, and then login as normal.

My latest attempt for a easy MacOS reboot without trashing old roon apps and performing a new install of roon was to unauthorize Mac server then quite roon. Trash the library/roon and library/roonServer. Holy smokes I gotta try that again I missed library/application support/roon and library/application support/roonServer. Unauthorizing Mac as server is not rewarding as it is still latching on and not giving Pink Scion free reign.
