Hello @godo.fredo and welcome to the forum.

The Roon Server package no longer works on older DSM versions. Please update to a current DSM version or switch to the official Docker image to run Roon Server on your NAS. See also:

Hello @Jobria_Chung,

Roon Server not starting after the 2.66 update on an older Synology DSM version points to a compatibility change rather than a network problem.

The Roon Server package no longer supports older DSM releases, so the usual next step is to move to a currently supported DSM version or run the official Docker image instead. The Synology Docker guide here, Installing RoonServer on Synology with Docker, walks through the supported setup on Synology.

If you want, tell us whether this box is meant to stay on DSM 6.2.4 or whether updating DSM is an option, and we can point you to the best path from there.

Since there are so many applications at there,i duuno want to update to DSM7.X now. Can they provide a old version of roon spk for me to install backj?

The SPK is old and does not contain the Roon Server program, so no point in asking for that. Roon Labs doesn’t provide an older version of their program right now.

Hello @Jobria_Chung,

I completely understand wanting to stay on DSM 6.2 to keep your other applications running exactly as they are.

Regarding your question about an older .spk version: Unfortunately, Roon does not support downgrading the server software. Because Roon relies on a live cloud-based database for metadata and security, older versions eventually lose the ability to connect to our services or communicate with updated Roon Remotes on your phones and tablets.

However, there is a perfect “middle ground” for your situation. Since your DS218+ uses an Intel processor, it fully supports the Docker package even on DSM 6.2.4.

By moving Roon into a Docker container, you can keep your NAS on DSM 6.2 while giving Roon the modern software environment it needs to run the latest version.

Here is the best way to move forward:
