Hi all.
I’m getting rid of my Roon server. Seems to have packed up for good. I’ll replace with either an Eversolo box or a Nucleus Titan.
The question is; will a new box running my Roon account, be able to remember my music and Qobuz files?
Rob.
Hi all.

All of your Qobuz library additions will re-appear on a new server when you link that new server to your Qobuz account.
Any local library files stored on your dead Roon Server will be lost unless you have another copy of them somewhere else (or a file system backup of your now Roon Server). These files are not part of any Roon Database backup. You may be able to salvage the disk/SSD from your dead Roon Server and connect it to another computer in order to read the contents - but if the old server is dead because of a disk/SSD failure, then this will not likely be an option.
If you have another copy of the local library files (flac/alac/ whatever), then you can re-import them into a new Roon Server and all of your local library music will be preserved.
However, if, in addition to your music library, you also wish to restore any playlists created in Roon, Roon specific tagging or play history, you will need to restore a Roon database backup that was made before your Roon Server died. If you don’t have such a backup then you are likely out of luck in this respect.
If your local library media files are not stored on the Roon Server itself, maybe on a NAS, then they will obviously still be available for use on your new Roon Server when you get it.
There is a general server migration guide in the Roon Help Centre at:
Obviously, with a dead server, you won’t be able to perfrom a Roon database backup if you do not have one already so you will not be able to start at the beginning.
If you go the Nucleus Titan route, there is some more specific advice in the Roon Help Centre at:
Again, this guide starts with ‘backup your roon database on your old server’ which you will not be able to do if it has not already been done.
Thanks, Wade. Understood. Rob.
