So, because I use a Google Nest router, I cannot turn off all castable endpoints without shutting off the network.
It’s being suggesting that castable endpoints drop off, but at the same time that the phone cannot find the Roon server it has no problem casting audio to any of the other endpoints on our network.
Hey @Patrick_McGuire,
Apologies if you’ve already tested this, but, what happens if you temporarily disable one endpoint/node, and connect all your Roon devices to a single node within your nest setup? Do you run into the same issue?
Are there any firmware updates available for your router or Android device?
I restarted the network and unplugged the two mesh endpoints so was using router only. I then restarted my phone and the problem did not resolve. At 11:01a Pacific I opened Roon, was prompted if I wanted to connect, and connected fine.
Then I waited a minute, closed Roon, re-opened and could not connect.
My Pixel is Android 14 with September 5 security update. Nest router as of October 21 is latest version.
LOL this time I tried reopening the app immediately after the first close. It connected, so I did this repeatedly for two minutes. It connected each and every time.
Then I waited a minute and tried again. It connected.
Then I started writing this reply. Got to this point, then closed the app.
…5 minutes later, opened the app and it connected again.
FAFO
Today, after having closed the app for half a day, I could not connect.
